Apple has set a big record in India. In the financial year 2025, the company’s annual sales reached about 9 billion dollars i.e. about 80 thousand crores. People have liked Apple’s flagship products a lot. People are buying its premium devices, especially iPhone fiercely.

According to a Bloomberg report, by March 2025, Apple’s revenue rose 13%, which was $ 8 billion last year. The largest part of this growth came from the cells of the iPhone. The IDC report says that in the first half of 2025, Apple shipped 59 lakh units in India, which is 21.5% more than the previous year. The iPhone 16 was the highest ship during this period. The total smartphone market in India also shipped 7 million units, which saw a growth of 7.3% in the second quarter.

Apple gets boost in India

Despite the slowdown in smartphone cells worldwide, Apple is shining in India. China, which is Apple’s large market and manufacturing hub, has a collision and uncertainty with local brands like Xiaomi. Nevertheless, Apple’s revenue increased 4.4% in China in April 2025, which took place for the first time in two years.

Retail

At the same time, Apple is also increasing its retail business in India rapidly. Recently new stores were opened in Bengaluru and Pune and new stores are going to open in Noida and Mumbai in 2026. Under India’s policy, foreign brands have to source 30% of the products. In 2020, Apple launched the first online store in India and in 2023 CEO Tim Cook opened two physical stores in Mumbai and Delhi.

Make in India

Apple has now been bigger in manufacturing in India. Almost every fifth iPhone is now made in India. The company is increasing production in its five Indian factories, so that dependency on China can be reduced. Apple is also benefiting from the trade war between the US and China. The company is planning to increase the iPhone production from 40 million to 60 million units annually by spending $ 2.5 billion.

However, US President Donald Trump has warned Apple to manufacture or face tariffs in the US, but Apple has assured the Government of India that it will not slow down its India expansion.
