iPhone 18 Pro Series Rumored with Under-Display Face ID

New Delhi: Apple has recently introduced the iPhone 17 series globally from their Awe Dropping event, with the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max leading the lineup. However, even before people settle with the newly launched  iPhone 17, there are rumors about leaks of Apple’s iPhone 18 series have already started surfacing.

Early reports suggest that the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max may bring some notable upgrades. One of the key features rumoured is a 48MP main camera with a variable aperture, giving users more control over light while shooting. For those considering skipping the iPhone 17 Pro models, the iPhone 18 lineup could be worth the wait for major improvements.

Improvements in iPhone 18 Pro Max compared to iPhone 17 Pro Max

According to MacRumors, one of the most talked-about upgrades for the iPhone 18 Pro series could be under-display Face ID. Earlier, Ross Young the display analyst predicted that this technology might arrive with the iPhone 17 Pro models. However, the launch has now been delayed until 2026. This suggests that Apple could finally bring under-screen Face ID with the iPhone 18 Pro lineup. The feature would give the devices a cleaner design and a smaller Dynamic Island. Reports from The Information earlier this year also supported this, indicating Apple is preparing to introduce the technology with its 2026 iPhones.

Camera Features in iPhone 18 Pro models

According to reports, popular analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has suggested that Apple’s upcoming iPhone 18 Pro models may come up with some significant upgrades. One of the main changes could be a 48MP main camera with a variable aperture. This feature came with more control over the amount of light entering the lens, helping users to capture sharper shots in different lighting conditions. Right now, Apple’s Pro models, from the iPhone 14 Pro to the iPhone 17 Pro, use a fixed f/1.78 aperture. With the new variable aperture, iPhone 18 Pro users could manually adjust the depth of field, making portraits more refined and low-light photography more versatile.

Beneath the surface, the iPhone 18 Pro series is expected to run on Apple’s new 2nm A20 Pro chipset, designed using TSMC’s advanced process. This next-generation chip is likely to bring an improvement in both speed and energy efficiency compared to the A19 Pro in the iPhone 17 Pro. Additionally, Apple may introduce its in-house C2 modem, promising faster, more reliable, and power-efficient 5G connectivity.
