New Delhi: The iPhone 17 Air is likely to be released in September 2025, and new leaks indicate the ultra-thin phone will be available in four classy colour variants: Black, Silver, Light Gold, and Light Blue. The most attention-getting change is the new Light Blue colour, which has been compared by sources to the Sky Blue finish on the newest MacBook Air M4.
The report is by known leaker Majin Bu, who states that he has confirmed the colour details using his trusted sources. Fixed Focus Digital, a Weibo technology account, first introduced the Light Blue option. Although the actual marketing names remain to be seen, it appears that Apple is determined to provide both vintage and new flavouring of its slimmest iPhone ever.
Colour options
The iPhone 17 Air is expected to come in four different finishes. Black is universal and professional, whereas silver brings in a clean and polished appearance. Light gold is warm and has a touch of luxury, but it is not too strong. The striking Light Blue, a pale, fluffy colour, makes the phone appear light and contemporary and will allegedly be the star colour in Apple marketing.
Design focus
With an alleged MagSafe, 12 GB of RAM, a 6.6-inch OLED display, and the thinnest iPhone ever made, the iPhone 17 Air is rumoured to have the A19 or A19 Pro-based chip. The thin profile, however, has trade-off points: a single camera at the back, one speaker, and probably lower battery life when compared to the iPhone 17 Pro models.
Apple’s strategy
Insiders say that Apple wants to emphasise the light blue colour at launch to be consistent with the sky blue of the MacBook Air. This delicate but new colour is aimed at catching the eye of the design-driven minimalist identity of the iPhone 17 Air. The colour selection strategy implies that Apple is targeting both conventional customers and those in need of a more exclusive product.
With the launch date still ahead, one can expect to learn more about the iPhone 17 series. In the next version of updates, analysts are expected to discuss the importance of colour differentiation in the general strategy of Apple in its iPhone lineuptill 2025.
