Danish Ambassador met Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and discussed investment and technical cooperation in UP. Possibilities of partnership were raised in areas like Defense Corridor, renewable energy, water management and skill development.
Lucknow. Danish Ambassador to India Rasmus Abildgaard Christensen paid a courtesy call on Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath in Lucknow on Friday. During this, there was a detailed and positive discussion between the two sides regarding investment, technical cooperation and partnership in various fields in Uttar Pradesh.
Denmark praised UP’s development model
During the meeting, the Danish Ambassador praised the changes that have taken place in Uttar Pradesh in the last 9 years under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. He said that earlier Uttar Pradesh was less known in terms of investment, but today this state has become a major destination for investors. He described the state’s large population, skilled human resources and strong infrastructure as its biggest strengths.
Investment interest in defense corridor and technology sector
While talking about the investment possibilities in Uttar Pradesh, the Ambassador particularly showed interest in the Defense Corridor. He said that Denmark has good experience in the defense sector and the companies there are ready for investment and technical cooperation in this sector. Along with this, he also mentioned Denmark’s expertise in the waste-to-energy sector and expressed his desire for partnership in this.
Cooperation in renewable energy and green technology
The Ambassador said that the Uttar Pradesh government is promoting solar energy, waste-to-energy and hydrogen technology. He said that Danish companies can actively participate in these areas, due to which greater cooperation in the field of clean energy is possible.
Water Management and River Rejuvenation Projects
Talking about cooperation in the field of water management, the Ambassador said that work is going on with IIT (BHU) on a project related to river revitalization and water purification. He said that he will soon visit Varanasi in this regard. Apart from this, possibilities of cooperation in compressed biogas and other renewable energy sectors were also expressed.
Partnership in education, skill development and health care
The Ambassador described education and skill development as important areas of cooperation. He said that this will promote knowledge transfer and skill development. Also, in view of the increasing global demand in the elderly health care sector, he talked about connecting the youth of Uttar Pradesh with international opportunities by providing them language training and skills.
Opportunities for cooperation in agriculture and food processing
The Ambassador also described agriculture and food processing as important sectors. He said that by working together in agricultural technology, food processing and supply chain management, sustainable farming and value-added food products can be promoted.
Trust and cooperation of UP government for investment
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that Uttar Pradesh is among the fastest growing economies of the country. He described transparent policies for investors, strong law and order and modern infrastructure as the major strengths of the state. While inviting Danish companies to invest, he assured that the government will provide them all possible support and safe environment.
Employment and technological development will get new momentum
The Chief Minister said that the partnership with Denmark in areas like Defense Corridor, renewable energy, waste-to-energy, water management, skill development and health care will provide huge benefits to the state. He expressed confidence that this cooperation will increase employment opportunities, technological development and will give a new direction to sustainable development in Uttar Pradesh.
