International Gita Mahotsav: ‘Gita is the supreme path of life, three lakh people will recite it’- CM Mohan Yadav

At the International Geeta Mahotsav, CM Mohan Yadav described Geeta as the supreme path of life. The 15th chapter was recited by more than 3 lakh people in the entire state including Ujjain.

Bhopal. Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav said that Shrimad Bhagwad Geeta is a wonderful and unique book. Study of Geeta solves all the questions and curiosities related to human life. He said that the knowledge of Geeta is the basic basis of consciousness and knowledge of the entire creation. Yogiraj Lord Shri Krishna, with his intelligence and wisdom, has shown man the true path of religion, work and the essence of life.

The Chief Minister said that Lord Shri Krishna has described Karmayoga, selfless action and following religion as the highest path of man. He explained to Arjun that even while living in the world, a man should perform his duty and should not desire the fruits of his work. This path leads a person to salvation and ultimate peace.

International Geeta Mahotsav inaugurated

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav inaugurated the International Geeta Mahotsav organized at Ravindra Bhawan complex on Monday. He wished all the people of the state on Geeta Jayanti and said that Geeta teaches us that the soul ultimately meets God.

The program started by lighting the lamp and chanting Vedic mantras and garlanding the picture of Lord Krishna. In the festival, in the presence of Acharyas, saints and thousands of Krishna devotees, 11,000 reciters recited the 15th chapter of Gita in unison. This recitation filled the atmosphere with spiritual energy.

Target of recitation of Geeta by more than three lakh people

The Chief Minister said that last year 3500 students had created a unique record by reciting Geeta together. This time, more than 3 lakh people will recite the 15th chapter of Gita by evening in 55 districts, 10 divisions and 313 development blocks. He said that Lord Shri Krishna is a symbol of knowledge, education and actionism. After killing Kansa, he kept education paramount and learned Vedas, Upanishads, 64 arts and 14 sciences at Sandipani Ashram in Ujjain. He said that the friendship between Shri Krishna and Sudama teaches us that no matter what heights we achieve in life, we should not forget our friends and help them when needed.

Life of Shri Krishna: Struggle, Karma and Inspiration

The Chief Minister said that the life of Lord Shri Krishna is full of hard work and struggle. In Mahabharata, he taught Arjun to choose the path of duty. He explained that a man has to choose either the path of attachment or duty and the right path is of duty. Death of every living being is certain and a person has to suffer the consequences of his deeds. He said that Shri Krishna has given ‘Purushottam’ knowledge through soul and God in the 15th chapter.

Places associated with Shri Krishna are being developed as pilgrimage sites.

The Chief Minister said that the state government is developing all the places associated with the activities of Shri Krishna as pilgrimage sites. Just as Dwarka, Mathura and Vrindavan are important, Ujjain is also sacred. Wherever Shri Krishna’s feet fell, ‘Shri Krishna Patheya’ is being developed. Besides, the work of building ‘Geeta Bhavan’ is going on in all the urban bodies. The first Geeta Bhawan has been ready in Rajwada, Indore and it is also being inaugurated on Monday.

New direction for cultural events

Additional Chief Secretary Home, Culture and Tourism Shivshekhar Shukla said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Dr. Yadav, cultural activities have got a new direction in the state. Geeta was recited by 11 thousand devotees in Ujjain and by the evening more than 3 lakh people will create a new record by reciting Geeta. He said that the state government is continuously working to take Geeta to every home.

Key highlights of the event: AI based ‘Krishnayan’ and cultural presentations

For the first time, AI based musical drama ‘Krishnayan’ is being staged in the International Geeta Mahotsav, which will give the audience an experience of the divine life of Shri Krishna. Along with this, dance drama by Vishwa Gita Pratishthans, special ‘Gita on Wheels’ presentation by disabled artists and picture exhibition are the main attractions of the event. Ministers, MLAs, saints, Acharyas, religious leaders and thousands of Geeta readers were present in the programme.
