Inter-School District Rifle Shooting C’ship concludes

The Inter-School District Level Rifle Shooting competition for boys and girls under the Annual Activity Calendar (AAG) concluded today at the Shooting Hall, Gandhi Nagar, with young shooters from Government and private schools displaying impressive talent across various age categories.

Organised by the Department of Youth Services and Sports under the supervision of DYSSO Jammu Sukhdev Raj Sharma, the competition witnessed keen contests in both peep sight rifle and shooting pistol events.

In the Peep Sight Rifle events, U-14 Boys: Aryaveer Fotra (Heritage School), Devansh Mahajan (DPS Jammu) and Danish (APS Sunjwan) secured first, second and third places, respectively. U-14 Girls: Amaira and Ashwika finished first and second. U-17 Boys: Laksh Chetan Wazir, Rahul, (St Xavier Convent) and Kunal (APS Damana) were the top three. U-17 Girls: Lovyia Parihar (APS Damana), Dharya Kotwal (DPS) and Tarleen (PO Domana) secured the top three positions. U-19 Girls: Advika Singh and Nandika Sharma, both from Army Public School Damana, finished first and third, while U-19 Boys: Parth Abrol (Oriental Academy), Karmanya Jamwal (APS Damana) and Panav Singh (BSF Sr Sec School, Paloura) emerged victorious.

In the Shooting Pistol events, U-14 Boys: Ratish (Evergreen Hr Sec School), Sarthi Sharma (DPS) and Tejveer (British International School); U-14 Girls: Vedanshi (Jodhamal), Aradhya Jamwal (British International School) and Shardha Jasrotia (KCPS); U-17 Girls: Charvi Arora and Amodini, both from KCPS; U-17 Boys: Aarav (St Xavier Convent), Avyan Dasgotra (GD Goenka) and Sehajpal Singh (IDPS); U-19 Boys: Sudhanshu (APS Jammu) and Morish Sharma (Army Public School); and U-19 Girls: Alankrita (Carmel Convent), Niharika Rajput (APS Damana) and Dhanyata (APS Sunjwan) secured the top positions. The competitions were officiated by Vishal Bharti, Ashish Sharma, Vishal Mehra, Aman and Rajesh Virdi.
