‘Insult to women’: BJP reacts to Congress’ AI-generated video of PM Modi’s mother

New Delhi: The Congress Party has once again targeted the Prime Minister’s late mother Heeraben. This time they have created an AI-generated clip showing the PM’s mother rebuking him for his politics. As soon as the video was posted by the Bihar Congress, the BJP launched a scathing attack on the party, for allegedly repeatedly insulting the PM’s mother.

Congress insulted all mothers and sisters: BJP

The AI-generated video of the Prime Minister’s mother shows her appearing in the dream of the PM. She rebukes him over his politics. The BJP reacted sharply to the video, claiming that this was an insult to not just the PM’s late mother, but also to all women and the poor.

Heeraben Modi died at the age of 99 in 2022.

BJP’s Shehzad Poonawala posted on his social media platform, ‘X’ “Far from having remorse For abusing PM’s Mother, Congress not only justified, Defended the accused with lies, Tariq Anwar too defended. And now Bihar Congress crossed all limits with a disgusting video. This party has become GAALIWADI instead of Gandhiwadi. Mahila aur Maatru shakti ka apman is Congress ki pehchaan.”

Poonawala termed the Congress and its acts as “shameful.” He reminded people how Congress had abused Bihar using the analogy of “Bidi” in one of its recent posts and now they were insulting a person who was no longer alive, that is PM Modi’s mother Heeraben.

BJP’s national spokesman Pradeep Bhandari also raised objections to the AI-generated video. He said, “Congress under Rahul Gandhi continues its insult of Honorable PM @narendramodi ji’s mother. People of Bihar will give a befitting response to RJD & Congress that mock mothers and sisters of Bihar!”

Bhandari said that all these posts were being made at the behest of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi. In a video statement he said that Congress’ “Shahi Parivar” was insulting “mothers and sisters of Bharat”. He described the video as insensitive and sickening.

Earlier a controversy had erupted after some Congress workers abused PM Modi and his mother from a Congress stage in Darbhanga. The dais was made for Congress ‘Voter Adhikar Yatra” rally and Rahul Gandhi and RJD’s Tejashwei Yadav were supposed to address the crowd from here. Neither Gandhi nor Yadav was on stage when the abuse was uttered by a party worker, who was later arrested.

PM Modi had personally responded to the abuse he and his late mother were subjected to by the Congress supporters. He had said, “You all know that my mother is no longer in this world. Some time ago, after completing 100 years of age, she left us all. My mother, who had nothing to do with politics, was subjected to vile abuses from the RJD-Congress platform. This is deeply saddening, painful, and distressing.”

He added, “The slang used on a Congress-RJD stage was not just for my mother, but for crores of mothers and sisters. Princes born in royal families won’t understand the suffering of an underprivileged mother and her son’s struggles.”
