Manoj Bajpayee will be next seen in the role of Mumbai Police officer, ‘Madhukar Zende’, in the movie, Inspector Zende. The movie will stream from September 5, 2025, on Netflix.
Manoj will be seen on a secret mission as a cop behind Jim Sarbh. The trailer of the movie was unveiled on August 25, 2025, and from September 5, 2025, the crime drama will stream on Netflix. Apart from Manoj and Jim, the film also features Bhalchandra Kadam, Sachin Khedekar, Girija Oak and Harish Dudhade.
What can be expected from the trailer of Inspector Zende
The trailer showcases Manoj in the Mumbai police uniform with his team. Netflix shared a poster from the movie a few days ago, accompanied by the caption “Interpol’s most wanted meets Mumbai’s most unstoppable.” Will ‘Carl Bhojraj ‘a.k.a Jim escape this time? Viewers will be ready to watch the fun-filled crime drama movie on September 5, 2025. For ‘Madhukar Zende’, his biggest mission starts off as soon as he has the responsibility of catching hold of Interpol’s most wanted criminal.
Netizens are in love with the trailer of Inspector Zende?
One user, seeing the trailer of ‘Inspector Zende’wrote, “Love it. Hit hai boss.” The trailer has a reference to Rishi Kapoor’s name, to which a user wrote, “To my Rishi Kapoor &. The team..This trailer is too much fun to watch! Can’t wait for the 5th of September.” A user even commented, “Happy to see Marathi names all over.” Fans couldn’t help but love the fact that the name ‘Rishi bhau’ was featured in the trailer. Inspector Zende is inspired by true events
Inspector Zende has been written and directed by Chinmay Mandlekar and has been produced by Jay Shewakramani and Om Raut. The story showcases the life of an everyday cop who becomes a legend by tracking down the smart ‘Swimsuit Killer’, Carl Bhojraj, not once but twice. The trailer showcases the relentless pursuit of Carl by the Mumbai police. Manoj is shown to be the intelligent ‘Zende’, who is seen locked inside a game of cat and mouse, where Jim’s charm is on one side, as ‘Carl’, whose character is based on Charles Sobhraj.
The movie is based on Zende finding Charles, who was also called the ‘Bikini Killer’. Well, in the Netflix version, Charles’ character is renamed and the movie showcases the operation by the cops that led to the arrest of Sobhraj. Jim is seen shining in the 2-minute and 33-second trailer. The film has followed the earlier works also of Zende, which also included a 2023 documentary named Zende and Zende’s own memoir, which had Akshay Shah in Mumbai’s Most Wanted: The Thrilling Case Files of a Supercop.

More about Charles Sobhraj
For the unversed, Sobhraj was known for targeting young travellers in Asia back during the 1970s and was convicted of many murders. It was in 1986 when he escaped Tihar jail, where, reportedly, he had drugged the guards during one of the staged parties. His escape was one of the most well-known prison breaks that took place in India. Manoj, earlier in an interview with IANS, spoke about his role and shared what fascinated him about Inspector Zende. Manoj added:
“He wasn’t chasing glory – he was just doing his job, yet caught one of the most notorious criminals twice. His bravery, humour, and that unmistakable Mumbai flavour make his journey truly inspiring.”
