Inside story of RJD meeting: Tejashwi said in front of Lalu – no more…, then came the twist

After the election defeat, Tejashwi Yadav was again elected the leader of the legislature party in the review meeting of RJD. While accepting the post, he rejected family interference in the party. Lalu Yadav also supported Tejashwi’s decision by calling him the leader of the future.

After the crushing defeat in Bihar Assembly elections 2025, the first big message regarding leadership, decision and intervention within RJD has come out. In the detailed review meeting of the Grand Alliance held in Patna on Monday, former Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar Tejashwi Yadav clearly said for the first time that he does not want to run the party in a family-based intervention model. In the meeting, Tejashwi bluntly said, “I am ready to accept the responsibility, but the family’s interference in the party will no longer be tolerated.” This statement has come at a time when discussions about Rohini Acharya-Sanjay Yadav-family differences are in the headlines and dissatisfaction is also increasing among the party cadre.

Beginning of the meeting: Tejashwi refused, Lalu put pressure

Lalu Prasad Yadav, Rabri Devi, Misa Bharti and all senior MLAs and central officials were present in the closed-door meeting held at the party office in Patna. According to sources, as soon as the meeting started, a proposal was passed to make Tejashwi Yadav the leader of the legislature party again.

Tejashwi immediately disagreed, saying, “I don’t see myself as a leader, but as a worker. I don’t want any post right now.” Due to his answer the entire hall went into silence for a few minutes. But RJD chief Lalu Yadav immediately rejected it and proposed it again, and all the MLAs present there raised their hands in support. Ultimately Tejashwi was once again elected the leader of the RJD legislature party.

Then came the real twist: Tejashwi’s strict statement

After accepting the leadership, Tejashwi clearly said, “I am taking the post, but I will no longer accept family-based pressure and interference in the party. Decisions will be taken only in the interest of the organization.” It is being said that this statement was a direct reference to Misa Bharti, Rabri Devi and the recent family disputes.

Immediately after Tejashwi’s statement, Lalu Yadav gave a balancing overall statement. He said, “The party and the family will remain separate. Tejashwi is the present and future leader. He will decide how to run the party.” Lalu also said that family fights will end within the family itself and will not affect public politics. This statement is being considered the most important signal politically.

What issues were discussed in the meeting

Seat-wise analysis of election performance, reports of seats lost by small margins, and questions on EVM-booth data gap were also discussed in the meeting. Lalu directed that if anyone has information about any irregularity or booth pattern report, they should directly reach the top leadership of the organization.
