After two consecutive months of decline, jet fuel prices in the country have once again shocked the common people. The special thing is that for the first time in 2.26 years, the price of jet fuel in the country has crossed Rs 1 lakh. By the way, the prices of jet fuel have increased for the first time only in the year 2026. A decline in ATF prices was seen in the months of January and February. There has been an increase of about 6 percent in the prices of jet fuel from the country’s capital Delhi to Chennai.

Whereas in Chennai city of South India, the price of jet fuel has exceeded Rs 1 lakh per kilolitre. In such a situation, airline companies can increase the prices of flight tickets. At present, petroleum accounts for 40 percent of the cost of operating an airline. In such a situation, if fuel prices increase, companies are forced to increase flight prices. Jet fuel prices for domestic flights

According to IOCL data, the price of jet fuel for domestic flights in the country’s capital Delhi has increased by 5.74 percent i.e. Rs 5,244.75 to Rs 96,638.14 per kilolitre. Whereas in Kolkata, an increase of 5.44 percent i.e. Rs 5,141.52 has been seen and the price has become Rs 99,587.14 per kilolitre. In Kolkata, the price of jet fuel for domestic flights has increased by 5.82 percent i.e. Rs 4,977.24 per kiloliter to Rs 90,451.87 per kiloliter. In Chennai, it has increased by 5.80 percent and the price has increased by Rs 5,498.5 to Rs 1,00,280.49 per kiloliter.

Fuel prices for international flights

On the other hand, there has been an increase in the prices of jet fuel for international flights also. Here the increase is seen in dollars. Talking about IOCL data, the price of jet fuel for international flights in all four metros of the country has increased by $ 38.06 per kilolitre. After which, the price of jet fuel in the country’s capital Delhi, Kolkata, Mumbai and Chennai has increased to $ 816.91, $ 855.25, 816.62, and $ 812.32 per liter respectively.
