IndiGo creates trouble, how to travel by air, fare crosses Rs 92,000

Due to Indigo crisis, there is a huge increase in the prices of flight tickets in the country for the day of 6 December 2025. The fare on Delhi to Mumbai, one of the busiest air travel routes in India, has reached Rs 48 thousand and the price of flight ticket to Andaman has reached Rs 92 thousand. According to International Air Transport Association (IATA) data released in 2025, flights between Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Kolkata and Hyderabad will have the highest number of passengers, becoming the busiest domestic routes in India by 2024.

According to the MakeMyTrip (MMT) website, this is how much tickets are being sold now amid IndiGo’s disruption crisis. Here we are going to tell you about the tickets of some routes, which are for 6th December 2025.

  1. Delhi to Mumbai- Fares for direct flights between Delhi and Mumbai start at Rs 25,161 per person, and go up to Rs 48,972 per person after adding taxes. Only Air India, Air India Express and SpiceJet will operate their flights from Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport on Saturday, 6 December 2025. On an average, a normal daytime airline ticket from Delhi to Mumbai costs around Rs 6,000-6,200 for a one-way journey.
  2. Mumbai to Delhi- Fares for direct flights between Mumbai and Delhi start from Rs 23,589 per person and go up to Rs 46,800 per person before taxes. Statistics show that for the next two days only Air India, Air India Express and SpiceJet will operate their aircraft from Delhi airport. On an average, a day’s airline ticket from BOM to DEL costs around Rs 6,000 for a one-way journey.
  3. Delhi to Kolkata- Direct flights between Delhi and Kolkata are selling in the range of Rs 23,589 to Rs 46,899 per person before taxes till December 6, 2025. According to MMT data, at present only Air India, Air India Express and SpiceJet flights are available for booking. On an average, a day ticket from Delhi to Kolkata costs around Rs 5,700 to Rs 7,000 for a one-way journey.
  4. Kolkata to Delhi- Direct flight tickets between Kolkata and Delhi were being sold between Rs 27,999 and Rs 38,809 per person before taxes till December 6, 2025. Air India, Akasa Air and SpiceJet are operating flights from Kolkata airport at current price levels. On an average, the fare for a one-way journey from Kolkata to Delhi ranges between Rs 5,000-6,000.
  5. Delhi to Bengaluru- Flights from Delhi to Bengaluru are now charging between Rs 80,069 per person and Rs 88,469 per person before taxes, while the average price during normal operations is Rs 7,173 per person.
  6. Delhi to Andaman- On Saturday, 6 December 2025, only one flight will be operated by Air India from Delhi to Andaman with a stopover of 19 hours 45 minutes at the two airports. The airline’s flight prices have become Rs 92,067 per person before tax. On an average, a one-way flight ticket price between Delhi to Andaman ranges between Rs 12,000 to Rs 20,000 per person.
  7. Delhi to Hyderabad- Delhi to Hyderabad flight tickets are being sold between Rs 49,259 per person to Rs 50,628 per person. According to MMT data, only Air India Express is operating flights between Delhi and Hyderabad. On an average, ticket prices for a one-way journey on this route range between Rs 5,500-6,000 per person.

Railways announced

After the rising prices of flight tickets, people are turning to railways. East Central Railway has taken a big decision amid the airline company Indigo flight crisis. In view of the increasing crowd of passengers, Railways decided to run many special trains. According to the Railways, as per the order of Hajipur zone, two special trains will be run on the Patna-Anand Vihar (PNBEANVT) route. All special trains with 2221 coaches will run completely on electric traction. Railways has instructed the zone to give priority to these trains at par with Superfast/Mail Express.
