The India National Cricket Team has kicked off its preparations for the upcoming Asia Cup 2025 in Dubai. However, the Indian players are training in jerseys without a principal sponsor, and even they will play in the upcoming Asia Cup 2025 without the sponsor.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and Dream11 were forced to end their deal after the introduction of the Online Gaming and Protection Bill 2025. The sudden exit of Dream11 forced the BCCI to scrap the already-printed Dream11 jerseys for the upcoming continental tournament in the UAE and look for a new lead sponsor at the last minute.
India to play Asia Cup 2025 without a sponsor
The BCCI has already posted the advertisement for lead sponsorship rights, and a new deal is expected to be finalized by the end of September. With Dream11 pulling out with a year still left on their contract, the BCCI could not secure a replacement in time.
As a result, the India National Cricket Team will play the Asia Cup 2025 without a title sponsor on their jerseys. It has now been confirmed that the Men in Blue will play without a sponsor, and the young pacer Arshdeep Singh made it official through his Snapchat story.
Shivam Dube and Arshdeep Singh share first look of India’s sponsor-free Asia Cup 2025 kit
Recently, Arshdeep Singh and Shivam Dube gave fans a glimpse of the Indian cricket team’s plain T20I jersey. The blue and orange kit, which has been used since the last ICC T20 World Cup in 2024, now features no branding. Indian spinner Kuldeep Yadav was seen posing for the camera on Arshdeep’s story, which was reportedly taken during a team photoshoot. He captioned it simply as a “fit check.”
The viral Indian kit is similar to the ICC T20 World Cup 2024; only the Asia Cup 2025 logo is printed on the left side of the chest, while “India” is printed on it.
Indian players fine-tune skills ahead of Asia Cup 2025
Meanwhile, the Indian cricket team has landed in the UAE and begun preparations for the Asia Cup 2025. On Friday, September 5, the Indian squad trained together at the ICC Academy in Dubai. Indian vice-captain Shubman Gill and pacer Jasprit Bumrah turned the nets into a lively contest.
Gill drove fluently through the covers while Bumrah fired sharp deliveries back. Their friendly banter created an electric atmosphere ahead of the tournament. Indian skipper Suryakumar Yadav also joined the nets as he is aiming to make a strong comeback after sports hernia surgery.
Sanju Samson and Jitesh Sharma also put in intense work behind the stumps, as either of them will make the cut as the wicketkeeper in India’s XI. On the other hand, Abhishek Sharma faced left-arm spin and wrist spin under the close supervision of India’s bowling coach, Morne Morkel.
Arshdeep Singh and Harshit Rana concentrated on fitness drills, while Hardik Pandya bowled short bursts as part of India’s pace rotation strategy. India will face the UAE on September 10 in Dubai, followed by a high-voltage clash with archrivals Pakistan on September 14. The Men in Blue then face Oman on September 19 in Abu Dhabi in their final group match in the tournament.
