In a significant shift from the traditional route, Indian nationals can now secure a lifetime UAE Golden Visa without needing to purchase property or hold a trade license, thanks to a new nomination-based visa policy recently rolled out by the UAE government.
Under the new program, applicants can obtain a Golden Visa by paying a one-time fee of AED 100,000, approximately Rs 23.3 lakh in Indian currency, without meeting the earlier conditions of investing AED 2 million in property or business.
New Route Opens Opportunities For Indian Citizens
The nomination-based policy offers a life-long Golden Visa, streamlining the pathway for skilled professionals, educators, creatives, and even e-sports players. This initiative reflects the UAE’s continued commitment to attracting global talent and supporting diverse categories of residents.
India and Bangladesh have been selected as the first two countries for piloting this model. A consultancy firm named Rayad Group has been designated to test the initial phase in India. Rayad Kamal Ayub, Managing Director of Rayad Group, called it a “golden opportunity” for Indians, noting the ease and affordability compared to older visa paths.
Expanded Eligibility Categories
The UAE’s Golden Visa program now covers 10 core categories, including investors, entrepreneurs, scientists, researchers, executives, athletes, and frontline workers. Additionally, five new categories have been added: nurses with over 15 years of experience, teachers and university faculty, digital content creators, e-sports professionals aged 25+, and luxury yacht owners with vessels over 40 metres.
This evolution reflects the UAE’s broader strategy to position itself as a global hub for innovation, education, and creative industries.
