According to media reports, he attacked two passengers with a metal fork and slapped a woman on Lufthansa Airlines flight LH-431 from Chicago to Germany. This entire incident happened on October 25, after which the flight had to make an emergency landing at Boston Airport.

Panic spread among passengers

According to the US Attorney’s Office, Indian passenger Praneet Kumar, who was sitting on the flight, suddenly became violent. They hit one 17-year-old boy on the shoulder and the other on the back of the head with a metal fork, leaving both seriously injured. When the crew members tried to stop him, Praneeth made a gun gesture with his hand and placed it in his mouth and pretended to fire. His action spread panic among the passengers. After this Praneet slapped a female passenger sitting nearby. The flight attendants immediately restrained him and tied him to his seat for safety. After this the pilot diverted the plane towards Boston Airport where the police arrested him.

Fine may be up to Rs 2 crore

According to the US Federal Prosecution Office, Praneeth has been accused of assault with a dangerous weapon. This is a serious crime, and if he is convicted, he could face up to 10 years in prison. Along with this, one may have to remain under surveillance for 3 years and a fine of up to ₹ 2 crore may also be imposed.
