The Indian Navy has evacuated people trapped in a submarine in the South China Sea. This mission was carried out by DSRV Tiger X. This DSRV dives in the South China Sea for the first time. All this was done during the multinational submarine rescue exercise organized by Singapore Navy.

This was the first time India’s submarine rescue system worked outside the Indian Ocean region. During the practice in the South China Sea, Tiger X docked with the submarine of the friendly country. What is XPR-25?
XPR-25 is an exercise that was organized by the Navy of Singapore between 15-25 September. More than 40 countries and their naval troops participated in it. The practice was conducted in two stages. The first was the coastal phase (15-20 September) and the second maritime phase (21-25 September).

Three submarine rescue units participated in the sea phase of practice. Each unit was stationed on a mother ship. Singapore’s MV Swift Rescue, Japan’s JS Chidoda and India’s recent commissioned INS Nistar participated in it. These units operated along with submarines of South Korean Navy, Japan Marine Self-Defense Force and Singapore Navy. They were deployed as passive submarines.
Tiger X put first dive in South China Sea
On 23 September, India’s DSRV Tiger X made the first dive into the South China Sea. This mini-sabomersible first docked South Korea’s submarine Shin Dole-Syoka (S-082). Shortly thereafter, it docked Singapore’s submarine RSS Invensible. India is currently operating two DSRVs. They have been purchased from UK -based company James Fisher Defense (JFD Global). Each system includes rescue vehicle, launch and recovery equipment, tUP system and comprehensive logistics aid.

What works DSRV?
DSRV is a small size submarine. It is designed to provide assistance to the people trapped in submarine. It goes to the submarine trapped in difficulty. He joins with him and takes out the people trapped in it. DSRV has a TUP system (pressure under pressure) to carry out missions in deep sea. It is a special arrangement that helps people safely move from one place to another without changing pressure.
