Indian doctors and nurses are proving their worth all over the world. According to a report by American company Remiliti, the highest number of Indian doctors abroad is in the US, where one in every five immigrant doctors is Indian.
The number of Indian doctors in the US has reached around 59,000. After this, Britain is in second place, where more than 30,000 Indian doctors are registered. This figure shows the global influence of Indian health professionals.
There is also a good number of Indian doctors in the United Arab Emirates, Australia, Canada and Gulf countries. Apart from this, about 32,000 Indian nurses are working in the US. The growing demand for qualified health professionals globally, the search for a better lifestyle and the desire for international experience is prompting Indian doctors to settle abroad, giving them global recognition and respect.
