New Delhi: In a shocking development, Uttarakhand cricketer Rajan Kumar has tested positive for doping. The 29-year-old left-arm pacer was a regular for his domestic team and last featured in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2025, which concluded last month.
As per news agency PTI, Rajan tested positive for as many as three banned substances and has been provisionally suspended by the National Anti-Doping Agency (NADA). His dope sample consisted of three anabolic steroids, which are banned. He tested positive for Drostanolone, Metenolone, and Clomifene.
Drostanolone and Metenolone are anabolic-androgenic steroids (AAS) which are often used to enhance physique and performance. Both anabolic steroids are on the banned list of the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA). Meanwhile, Clomifene is often used to treat infertility in women and to enhance testosterone levels among men.
