‘India Will Buy Oil From Wherever.’: Netizens Slams US Trade Advisor’s Remarks On Russia Trade

US President Donald Trump’s trade advisor Peter Navarro has come under heavy criticism from Indian social media users. On Friday, Navarro targeted India’s policy of buying crude oil from Russia, calling Indian traders profiteering.

He also alleged that India is making huge profits by selling Russian oil and blamed it for the Ukraine war.

The biggest resentment was over a post in which a picture of Prime Minister Narendra Modi meditating in saffron clothes was shared. Navarro ended his post by writing, “The road to peace in Ukraine goes through New Delhi,” which many called offensive and provocative.

A social media user reacted to it and wrote, “You armed Pakistan with free weapons for decades, not through sales. You never sold weapons to India, even when we offered to pay. We see your trap. India will manufacture domestically and rely on trusted partners who support our technology and economy. True partners have strategic foresight, unlike your colonial strategy.”

Another user wrote, “India will continue to buy Oil from wherever its available.”

Another user wrote, “Oh so now you have issues with India having relations with Russia same Russia who put nuclear between India and your nuclear submarines in 1971 which you tried to use to threaten India helping Pakistan.”
