India will now be less dependent on other countries for arms and defense technology. For this, the Ministry of Defense has focused a big focus on the development of indigenous defense techniques. In the last three years, DRDO has been given more than Rs 29,558 crore projects. Let us tell you that in Operation Sindoor, Made in India weapons caused severe devastation in Pakistan, as well as the Pakistani attacks on India. Since then, the government is now insisting on becoming more interesting in the defense sector.
Details of three years
- In 2023: 40 projects, Rs 3,842 crore
- In 2024: 43 projects, Rs 22,175 crore
- In 2025 so far: 20 projects, Rs 3,540 crore
Many new missiles, drones and modern engines are being created with these money. For example, the Cauvery derivative engine (KDE) that will give strength to a strike drone without pilot. For this, 2 projects are running on which about 723 crore rupees will be spent.
Defense technology will be fast developed
- Companies of the country will be brought from prototype to direct production so that foreign procurement is reduced.
- DRDO has set up 15 new research centers in the country’s IITs and universities, where there will be direct work on defense technology.
- Now companies will be able to use DRDO patent techniques for free.
- Drone and small aircraft will pass through the same certificate in both civil and army, this will make the work of industries easier.
- DRDO’s labs for testing will now be open for private companies.
- TDF (Technology Development Fund) will provide companies to make new technology.
Minister of State for Defense Sanjay Seth told in Parliament that the dream of self -sufficient India is becoming a reality with these steps. Now new weapons, drones, missiles and engines will be ready in the country and millions of youth will also get employment.
