Team India began their Asia Cup 2025 campaign with a nine-wicket win over the UAE on September 10 in Dubai. After winning the toss, India bowled out the hosts for just 57 in 13.1 overs, with Kuldeep Yadav taking 4/7 and Shivam Dube picking up 3/4.
In the chase, Abhishek Sharma scored 30 off 16 balls, sharing a 48-run opening partnership with Shubman Gill, who remained unbeaten on 20. India completed the target in just 4.3 overs.
Pakistan also started on a positive note by defeating Oman by 93 runs. The Men in Green are in second place in Group A with two points and a net run rate of +4.650, behind India, who top the table with two points and a +10.483 NRR.

They urged spectators to enjoy the India vs Pakistan game responsibly while maintaining discipline and safety.
Major General Saif Muhair Al Mazrouei, Chairman of the Events Security Committee, stated that offenders could face one to three months in jail and fines ranging from AED 10,000 to AED 30,000 (approximately PKR 750,000 to 2.3 million).
Any violations will result in immediate legal action to protect fans and preserve the stadium environment. It will be the first India vs Pakistan match after Operation Sindoor, launched by India in May 2025 in response to the Pahalgam terrorist attack.
