New Delhi: India will take on Korea in the Asia Cup 2025 final at the Rajgir Hockey Stadium on September 7, Sunday. The Men in Blue sealed the place in the final by a thumping victory against China 7-0 in the last Super 4 stage. Whereas, Korea defeated Malaysia 4-3 to make their way to the final.
After eight years, India have qualified for the Asia Cup final and overall, this will be country’s ninth final appearance in the tournament. The final has an important significance as the winner of the multi-nation tournament will directly qualify for the World Cup 2026 in Belgium and the Netherlands.
Both nations have collided earlier in the tournament, and the game ended in a 2-2 draw. India are the only unbeaten team in the tournament as they won five out of six matches, and one game ended in a tied, that too was against Korea.
Meanwhile, Korea’s defeat against China in the Super 4 stage literally tore their chances of playing back-to-back Asia Cup finals, but in the last game against Malaysia, they overcame a 1-3 deficit to win the game by 4-3.
India’s defensive unit is playing impressively in the tournament, and in the last few matches, their strikers have also been scoring field goals. The Men in Blue will be favourites to win the Asia Cup title after eight years.
