India thrash Sri Lanka to set up U-19 Asia Cup final against Pakistan

New Delhi: India under-19 team produced a splendid effort to thrash Sri Lanka under-19 by 8 wickets and storm into final of the Asia Cup 2025. In a game which was reduced to 20 overs per side due to wet outfield, India showcased dominance and determination to set up the final clash against arch-rivals Pakistan on Sunday. Pakistan beat Bangladesh in another semifinal to qualify for the summit clash.

Giving a target of 139 runs in 20 overs, the Indian team (139/2) crossed the finish line with two overs to spare as Aaron George and Vihaan Malhotra notched up unbeaten half-centuries to deny the Lankans any chance in the short match.

After Sri Lanka were successful in taking the wickets of Ayush Mhatre and Vaibhav Suryavanshi for 7 and 9 respectively, both Aaron and Vihaan stitched an unbeaten partnership of 114 runs to guide the side home with ease. While Aaron remained unbeaten on 58, Vihaan scored 61 runs off 45 balls to punish the Lankan side.
