India enjoyed a golden day at the World Archery Para Series Stage III, winning two gold, two silver and a bronze on the penultimate day of competition here on Tuesday.
Toman Kumar and Shyam Sundar Swami delivered the first gold, defeating Iraq’s Abbas Kadhim and Anwer Aldawod 152-139 in the men’s compound team final. After an unsteady opening end, the Indians found their rhythm and dropped only five points over the next 12 arrows to take control.
Harvinder Singh and Vijay Sundi then completed a comeback against Slovakia, winning the men’s recurve team final 6-2. The Indians recovered from an opening-set loss by producing three 10s in the third set before sealing gold in the fourth.
Bhawna and Pooja settled for silver after China won the women’s recurve team final 6-0. Swati Chaudhary and Adil Mohamed Nazir Ansari also took silver in the Mixed Team W1 event, losing 1-5 to the Czech Republic.
Swati later added bronze in the individual W1 category, beating Russia’s Elena Krutova 6-2 while competing under the Individual Neutral Athlete flag.
India narrowly missed another bronze as Sheetal Devi and Payal Nag lost the women’s compound team playoff to China.
