A big update has come regarding when and where Team India will be announced for T20 World Cup 2026. This update has been released by BCCI. BCCI issued a press release saying that the selection of Indian players for next year’s T20 World Cup and the series against New Zealand will be held on December 20. The players will be selected at the BCCI headquarters in Mumbai.
When and where will Team India be announced?
Team India for T20 World Cup 2026 and New Zealand series will be announced on December 20, there were already reports regarding this. But, now BCCI has put its official seal on that news. The selection of the Indian team will take place at 1.30 pm, after which T20 captain Suryakumar Yadav and Chief Selector Ajit Agarkar will also hold a press conference.
When and what is the schedule of the series from New Zealand?
India has to play a home white ball series against New Zealand. This series will take place before the start of T20 World Cup 2026. There will be a total of 8 matches in this series, which includes 3 ODIs and 5 T20s. First ODI series will be played, the matches of which will be played on 11 January, 14 January and 18 January in Vadodara, Rajkot and Indore.
After the ODI series, 5 matches of T20 series will be played between 21st and 31st January. It will start from Nagpur. The second T20 match will be played in Raipur on 23 January. The third match is scheduled to be held on January 25 in Guwahati. The fourth T20 will be played in Vizag on 28 January while the last T20 will be played in Thiruvananthapuram on 31 January.
