Bharat Gramin Samvad 2025: In this program held in Raipur, the strategy of taking Chhattisgarh towards a green economy was intensively discussed. Organic farming, solar energy, local employment and village leadership were placed at the center.

Taking a remarkable initiative towards realizing Green Development in Raipur, August 4, 2025/ Chhattisgarh through public participation, the fifth India Rural Dialogue – 2025 was successfully completed today under the joint aegis of Indian Institute of Management, Raipur and Transform Rural India. In this dialogue organized on the topic of “Journey of Green Economic Change of Chhattisgarh under the leadership of villages”, the strategies to lead the state in the Green direction were intensively discussed.

On this occasion, Deputy Chief Minister Shri Vijay Sharma shared his views by joining virtual medium. He said that the foundation stone of green development in the state under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Vishnudev Sai is not only a milestone towards environmental protection, but is also a far -reaching effort towards making the rural economy self -reliant. He said that if traditional knowledge and resources are constantly used by keeping villages at the center, then we can make rural life rich and strong along with protecting the environment. Chhattisgarh can be developed as a green state with efforts such as organic farming, solar energy and local employment generation. He also clarified that the state government is completely committed in this direction.

During the program, a consent letter (MOU) was signed between the Forest Department and the Transform Rural India organization to cooperate with the green change. On this occasion, five major pillars were presented by the Management Institute, Raipur for the Green Development of the state, including conservation of traditional farming and forest resources, green employment and environmental tourism, promoting local production, public participation in solar power management, public participation, policy and construction of institutional structure.

Panchayat representatives, social organizations, women, entrepreneurs and subject experts participated in the program. Ideas were shared on important issues such as water conservation, quality of education, availability of traditional seeds, deforestation, waste management and dependence on chemical farming.

Additional Chief Secretary of the Department of Forest and Climate Change, Mrs. Richa Sharma said that Chhattisgarh is a forest-rich state and the natural wealth and public participation here can establish an ideal model of green development. Smt. Niharika Barik Singh, Principal Secretary, Panchayat and Rural Development Department, said that Gram Panchayats will become the axis of this green change and women will be given the role of leadership in this change. Secretary of Panchayat Department, Mr. Bhim Singh informed that now the panchayats will be evaluated on the basis of water conservation, cleanliness and green standards. Mr. Rahul Bhagat, Secretary, Department of Good Governance, said that it is the demand of the hour that instead of considering the Green Economy as a plan of governance, the community should be made its participant and main doer.

Experts present at the program also suggested that remedies such as revival of traditional industries in villages, revival of domestic industries, promoting handicrafts can give more speed and strength to green development.
