India, Pakistan continue acrimony with complaints to ICC against players

New Delhi: India and Pakistan have extended their animosity in the Asia Cup with complaints to the International Cricket Council over conduct of players.

India brought to attention Haris Rauf and Sahibzada Farhan provocative gestures during their Super 4 game in Dubai last Sunday.

Pakistan have raised skipper Suryakumar Yadav’s expression of solidarity with victims of Pahalgam terror attack and dedication of his team’s victory on September 14 to the Indian Armed Forces involved in Operation Sindoor.

The Indian cricket board (BCCI) filed its complaint on Wednesday and in retaliation the Pakistan board (PCB) too lodged its protest.

The PCB deems Surya’s comments as “political”, though it is yet unclear if they filed the complaint within seven days of the comment as per rules.
