India Imposes Anti-Dumping Duty On Herbicide Imports From China For Five Years; “Level-Playing Field” For Manufacturing Sector

India imposed an anti-dumping duty on herbicide imports from China. The Finance Ministry issued a notification that, for five years, the government has imposed an anti-dumping duty on Pretilachlor, a popular herbicide and its other related forms.

“The recent imposition of anti-dumping duties on select Chinese imports is a timely and essential move to ensure a level playing field for India’s manufacturing sector,” says Maninder Singh, Founder & CEO, CEF Group. Singh adds that for the domestic manufacturers, these actions go beyond mere protection—they foster an environment where innovation can thrive and secure livelihoods for countless families.DRDO To Showcase India’s Aerospace and Defence Innovation At Paris Air Show 2025

The subject goods have been exported to India, according to the Finance Ministry. They have been exported at a price below the normal value, thus causing dumping. The prices of the domestic industry are being undercut. The landed price of imports is below the level of the selling price of the domestic industry.
