India Expands Visa-on-Arrival for UAE Nationals: 9 Airports Now Offer Facility

Visitors from the UAE who are planning to travel to India, here is some exciting news. India just made travel more easier by expanding its Visa-on-Arrival (VoA) option to more cities. Starting this week, UAE nationals can now get a VoA at three new airports, including:

This expansion beyond New Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, and Kochi airports is expected to increase tourism, business trips, conferences, and medical visits from UAE visitors.

Who Can Get Visa-On-Arrival in India

The Indian Visa-On-Arrival facility is only available to UAE nationals who have visited India before using either an e-Visa or a regular paper visa. Making it unavailable for the first-time visitors to India.

  • Stay in India for up to 60 days
  • Enter for tourism, business, medical visits, or conferences
  • Double entry permitted within those 60 days
  • Passports must be valid for at least six months

Important Restrictions

One key restriction every UAE national should keep in mind while travelling to India is that those whose parents or grandparents were born in or are permanent residents of Pakistan are not eligible for this Visa-on-Arrival.

The visa costs ₹2,000 per person, including for children. Payment can be made in Indian rupees or an equivalent foreign currency. There’s no limit on how many times a UAE national can use this facility in a year.
