India-Brazil Maitri 2.0 launched
A special program took place in New Delhi on Monday. In this program, India and Brazil have made a new beginning. The name is friendship 2.0. This is a program through which both countries will share new technologies and ideas related to farming. Its aim is to make the lives of farmers easier and take farming forward. The program was organized by the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR). In this, the head of ICAR, Dr. M.L. Jat and Brazilian Ambassador to India, Shri Kenneth Nobriga also attended.
India-Brazil’s friendship now reached the fields
Dr. Jat said that India and Brazil are 77 years old. The two countries work together in big forums like BRICS and G20. Recently, there has been an agreement between ICAR of India and Embrapa, a large agricultural organization in Brazil,. He said that there has been tremendous progress in research related to farming in India. Earlier, ICAR used to have only 74 patents, now it has been more than 1800 every year. That means new methods of farming, seeds, machines and technology are constantly working. Along with this, he told that ICAR has made more than 5000 license agreements, so that the benefit of these research can reach the common farmers. Dr. Jat said, it is also necessary to not only grow in farming, but also to think and new. India and Brazil will learn together from this program, help each other.
Brazil praises India
Brazilian Ambassador Shri Nobriga said that this program gives a direction to the future thinking of our countries. He said that both countries of India and Brazil want to move forward together in terms of farming, technology and nutrition security. The ambassador said, Friendship 2.0 will get a chance to connect startups and research institutes of both countries. This will strengthen the farmers and can be dealt with better than the challenges of farming.
New routes will open for young farmers
In this program, Dr. Srinivasa Rao, director of ICAR-AARI, said that his institute has so far promoted more than 400 agri-startups. These are the youth who are working on new farming related ideas. He said, now farming is not just the work of running, now it has to be considered as a business. Another ICAR officer, Dr. Neeru Bhushan, said that both India and Brazil today have issues like climate change, food security and sustainable farming. Their solution can be found only with mutual support. At the end of the program, ICAR-AARI officer Dr. Vishwanathan Srinivasan thanked all the guests and said that this program will deepen the relationship between India-Brazil.
What will be the benefit of friendship 2.0?
Startups, research centers and scientists of India and Brazil will work together through Friendship 2.0. This will share new techniques, use new methods of farming and farmers of both countries will be able to learn from each other. This program will emphasize digital farming, durable farming and post -crop process (eg storage, packaging and marketing).
