Speaking at the CEOs Forum, Nilekani recalled how PM Modi had suggested him to use AI in dairy besides farming. he said
PM Modi told us, why can’t we apply it on cows and cattle? Because if a cow is sick, she can’t tell you that she is sick. How can you solve this problem? He gave us his vision of implementing AI in farming and dairy.
He further added, “The same day, the PMO had a meeting with MeitY’s Krishnan and Abhishek, Amul and some of my colleagues. Within three weeks, the application went live… It is the world’s largest cooperative with 36 lakh farmers, 2 billion milk transactions every year and 4 crore cattle. For me, this is an example of the rapid implementation of AI in India.” (ANI)
