Pakistan has increased steps with nefarious plans

Pakistan has been working against India since its formation. Even in the last days of the 1970s, Pakistan had increased its activities in the Siachen region rapidly with wrong plans. Foreign mountaineering campaigns in this region were allowed by Pakistan, so that it seems that Siachen is controlled. Along with this, India got intelligence that military action is also being planned by Pakistan in this area.

Siachen

Siachen is geographically important.

Indeed, Siachen in the northern part of Ladakh is very important from a strategic point of view. It is located not only in India and Pakistan, but at the triangular point related to China. Therefore, if Pakistan had captured it, it would have been difficult for India to carry out military activities in Ladakh as well as Karakoram area.

Soldiers and equipment delivered by helicopter

In this situation, India took an important decision to maintain its control over Siachen on the basis of intelligence. Operation Meghdoot was started on 13 April 1984 for this from India. Under this, the Indian Army and the Air Force started the campaign showing unprecedented coordination. The Indian Air Force brought Indian soldiers and their equipment to the heights of Siachen Glacier from Chetak, Cheetah, MI-8 and MI-17 helicopters.

India gains, Pakistan remains staring at

Earlier, in October 1978, the Indian Air Force had landed on Siachan Glacier by Chetak helicopter. In such a situation, the pilot and technical team of India had a complete idea about the geographical location and weather of this region. This also helped him.

Under Operation Meghdoot, about 300 soldiers were launched on strategic peaks of Siachen. On the other hand, as long as Pakistan sends its army to this area, India’s army had set up its front at Bilafond La, Siala Pass and Gyong La. Due to this, India has occupied this area and then the strategic lead got to date.

Air Force becomes the basis of the success of Operation Meghdoot

The Indian Air Force Operation became the basis of the success of the Meghdoot. It was only that India reached Siachen and took over the front. Then heavy transport aircraft like AN-12, AL-32, IL-76 and then C-130J Super Hercules were also used to carry troops and materials to Siachen. India’s state -of -the -off helicopters also made many records by flying to a height of 20 thousand feet.

After the success of the operation, more heights were achieved

After the success of Operation Meghdoot in 1984, the Air Force established itself strongly in this area. In September (1984), 27 squadron’s Hunter fighters started flying from Leh and flew more than 700 times one by one. This not only raised the morale of Indian soldiers, but the enemy also came to know that even on an inaccessible front like Siachen, India is ready to give a befitting reply to any kind of audacity.

After this, state-of-the-art aircraft like MiG-23, MiG-29, Su-30 MKI, Mirage 2000 and Rafael, like Light Combat Helicopter Prachanda also started filling in this area. Especially helicopters like ALAP MK III/IV, Chinku and Apache have also been deployed in this region.

Helicopter is the lifeline of the world’s highest battle area

Siachen Glacier is actually considered to be the highest battlefield in the world. There is always a lack of oxygen here. The severe cold and icy storms keep coming here. In such a situation, Indian Air Force helicopters are no less than a lifeline for soldiers posted here. In case of emergency, they play a leading role in providing medical facilities to soldiers as soon as possible, so they also supply the necessary logistics, equipment and food.
