Independence Day 2025: We will celebrate our 79th Independence Day on 15 August 2025. The main attraction will be the Red Fort in Delhi. Here PM Narendra Modi will hoist the national flag for the 12th consecutive time and will address the country. The ceremony will start around 7 pm.

21 cannon salute will be given

If PM Modi hoist the flag, then 21 cannon salutes will be given. For this, the 1721 field battery (Ceremonial) will use an indigenous 105 mm light field gun. Flowers will be rained by Indian Air Force helicopters. After the flag hoisting, the Prime Minister will speak about India’s progress, its challenges and the direction of the future.

Jawans of all three armies will take out parade

The soldiers of the three armies will take out the parade. The parade will start from near India Gate and end at the Red Fort, moving forward on the duty path. Thousands of spectators and dignitaries gather on this route, about 2.5 km long.

What is the theme of 79th Independence Day?

The 79th Independence Day theme is “New India”. This theme reflects India’s ambition to create a rich, safe and self -sufficient nation. The country is moving towards the government’s vision of developed India by 2047. After the Prime Minister’s speech, the Cadet of the National Cadet Corps (NCC) and the ‘Mera Bharat’ volunteer will sing the national anthem. A total of 2,500 students and students cadets (Army, Navy and Air Force) and ‘Mera Bharat’ volunteers will participate in the ceremony. These cadets and ‘Mera Bharat’ will sit in front of the volunteer, in front of the rampart, and make a symbol of ‘New India’.
