New Delhi: The 79th Independence Day of India was celebrated with grandeur and patriotic fervour at Swaminarayan Akshardham in the national capital on Friday. The event brought together devotees, visitors, and dignitaries in a colourful and spirited tribute to the nation’s journey of freedom and progress.
Pujya Ishwarcharan Swamiji, International Coordinator of the Bochasanwasi Akshar Purushottam Swaminarayan Sanstha (BAPS), unfurled the tricolour in the temple premises. As the saffron, white, and green flags soared high against the morning sky, attendees rose in unison to salute the nation, recalling the sacrifices of countless freedom fighters and envisioning a future of unity and prosperity.
The celebration featured stirring patriotic songs and cultural performances that reflected India’s rich heritage. Uplifting messages delivered during the programme emphasised the importance of harmony, service, and commitment to the nation’s development.
