IND-W vs AUS-W: Australia equal their highest-ever women’s ODI total

New Delhi: Australia women produced a batting masterclass against India in their third ODI as they matched their all-time highest title in women’s ODI total. At the Arun Jaitley Stadium, the visitors piled up 412 runs, equalling the score they first achieved against Denmark during the 1997 Women’s World Cup.

The timing of the feat could not have been more significant. With the series level at 1-1, both sides entered the decider with everything on the line. Skipper Alyssa Healy’s decision to bat first after winning the toss set the stage and her team delivered a statement performance that put India under immense pressure from the start.

India, who had scripted a famous 102-run win in Mullanpur to square the series after losing the opener, stuck with the same XI. On the other hand, Australia made two changes, drafting in Kim Garth and Grace Harris for Darcie Brown and Annabel Sutherland. The shake-up added fresh energy to a batting unit that looked determined to take control of the contest.
