India vs West Indies, 2nd Test, Lowest Attendance New Record: The second and last Test of the series between India and West Indies is being played in Delhi. Delhi’s Arun Jaitley Stadium has a capacity of 35000 spectators. But, on the first day of the Test match which started from October 10, the entire stadium appeared empty. According to the surprising figures that have come out, only 673 spectators reached the ground to watch the Delhi Test match on the first day. Now whether it is the retirement of Rohit-Virat from Test matches or the decreasing interest of the spectators in Test matches, and also whether this is the effect of Karva Chauth, the big question is?
Never seen such a low audience before!
Only 673 fans reached the Arun Jaitley Stadium on the first day to watch the second Test between India and West Indies. Such a huge shortage of spectators has never been seen before on the first day of any Test played in India. In such a situation, this is also being said to be a new record for the lowest number of spectators in the stadium on the first day of any Test in India.

Effect of Karva Chauth on test match
Now the question is how did such a huge decrease in audience happen? That too in Delhi, where there is no dearth of cricket fans. A major reason behind this could be the festival of Karva Chauth. This test match has also started from 10th October i.e. the day of Karva Chauth festival. There is a little more fanfare on Karva Chauth in Delhi. In such a situation, it would not be wrong to say that Karva Chauth also has a role in the record-breaking decrease of spectators in the stadium on the first day.
There is no impact of Rohit-Virat’s absence.
Apart from Karva Chauth, Rohit-Virat not being in the Test team can also be a reason. Because, when Kohli played his last Ranji match here, the number of spectators who came to the stadium on the first day to watch him was much more than the number of spectators who came for India-West Indies.

Earlier, the first test in Ahmedabad also started from 2nd October. That is, the day when there was the festival of Dussehra in the country. There was lack of spectators in the first day’s play there too. But according to the news, Delhi Test has set a new record.
