IND vs WI 1st Test, Day 3: Jadeja’s triple strike leaves West Indies reeling at 66/5 by lunch

New Delhi: India tightened their grip on the first Test as Ravindra Jadeja ripped through the West Indies top order, leaving the visitors tottering at 66 for 5 by lunch on Day 3 at the Narendra Modi Stadium. After declaring their innings on the overnight score of 448 for 5, India’s bowlers made full use of early morning assistance to push West Indies to the brink of defeat.

India’s declaration which came early at the start of the day came as a surprise to many was a strategic call. With a lead of 286 runs in the bank, skipper KL Rahul opted to unleash his bowlers while the surface still had some bite. The move worked to perfection as the new-ball pair set the tone before Jadeja took charge with a three-wicket burst that ripped through the middle order.
