IND vs SA U19: India-South Africa match had to be stopped suddenly, this trouble came after Vaibhav Suryavanshi hit 10 sixes.

During the ongoing match in Benoni, the match had to be stopped due to lightning in the sky.

Just before the Under-19 World Cup 2026, the teams of India and South Africa are clashing with each other. An ODI series is being played between the two Under-19 teams, in the first match of which the Indian team had won. Although 14-year-old young opener Vaibhav Suryavanshi, who was captaining the Indian team, could not play in this series, he hit a lot of sixes in the second match. But in the second match, there was not only glory but also a heavenly disaster, due to which the match had to be stopped midway.

Batting first, South Africa Under-19 scored 245 runs in the second match of this ODI series on Monday 6 January in Benoni. In response, captain Vaibhav Suryavanshi made an explosive start by hitting a six on the very first ball. Vaibhav gave a fast start to the team by batting brilliantly and scored his half-century in just 19 balls. But Vaibhav could not bat for long and then got out as soon as the team reached near 100 runs.

But as soon as Vaibhav Suryavanshi’s bat stopped raining, the match did not last long. When Team India’s score reached 102 runs, suddenly lightning started flashing in the sky. Due to this continuous incident, the umpires decided to stop the match there and both the teams returned to the dressing room. The match was stopped for about half 40 minutes and then when the situation improved, the match could be started again.

This time the match was reduced from 50 to 42 overs and Team India’s target was reduced from 246 runs to 230 runs. But after the resumption of the match, only 11 balls could be played when lightning started appearing in the sky again, due to which the match was stopped for the second time citing security. By this time, the Indian team had scored 115 runs after losing 2 wickets and needed only 115 runs in 29.1 overs.

Earlier, Vaibhav Suryavanshi stunned South Africa Under-19 with his explosive batting. Vaibhav, who opened his account by hitting a six on his very first ball, hit 3 sixes within two overs and then this sequence continued till his dismissal. Vaibhav had completed his half-century in just 19 balls, which included 8 sixes. After this he hit his first four and then hit 2 more sixes. Ultimately, Vaibhav was out after playing an astonishing inning of 68 runs in just 24 balls. His innings included 10 sixes and 1 four.
