Sources associated with Cricket Association of Bengal have given information about Gill not going to Guwahati to news agency PTI. There is news that doctors have advised Gill not to board a plane for now. He has asked Gill not to fly. And, this is the reason why he is not going to Guwahati.

Second test is important but there is suspense on Gill’s play

After losing the first test badly in Kolkata, the second test has now become important for Team India. If India wants to avoid the series defeat, then victory at the Barabati Stadium in Guwahati is the only way. But even before they could decide on the path, the captain’s injury has increased the team’s worries.

Final call can be taken on Tuesday

According to PTI report, Shubman Gill has been advised rest for the next 4 days. The report said that after this decision of the doctors, it is difficult for him to go to Guwahati with the team for the second test. However, if sources are to be believed, Gill’s injury is being assessed every day and the final decision on his going to Guwahati can be taken on Tuesday.

When did Gill get injured?

Shubman Gill got injured while batting during India’s first innings in the Kolkata Test. When he was playing after scoring 4 runs in 3 balls, he got stiffness in his neck and had to retire hurt and go out of the field. Due to injury, Gill did not bat in the second innings also.

If Shubman Gill does not play in the Guwahati Test, then it will be the first time after October 2024 that he will miss a Test match. Gill had not played Test against New Zealand then.
