Pakistan Women collapsed to their lowest-ever total in Women’s Twenty20 Internationals, getting bundled out for just 55 runs in 18.1 overs against arch-rivals India in their IND vs PAK Women’s Asia Cup 2026 Group A clash at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Saturday.
Opting to bat first after winning the toss, Pakistan endured an extraordinary procession of wickets as India’s spin attack ruthlessly dismantled the lineup on a dry surface. The score eclipsed Pakistan’s previous record low in WT20Is-56 against the West Indies at Grenada in 2014-cementing an unwanted piece of cricket history for the national side.
Top-Order Unravels Early
Pakistan’s decision to set a target backfired almost immediately. Opener Gull Feroza was dismissed for a four-ball duck, while Ayesha Zafar managed just two before falling cheaply. Wicketkeeper-batter Muneeba Ali provided fleeting resistance with a run-a-ball 13, including a boundary, alongside Shawal Zulfiqar, who struck three fours in a 14-run cameo.
However, once Zulfiqar and Muneeba departed, the Pakistani batting order suffered a catastrophic collapse, losing their remaining wickets for minimal resistance against disciplined bowling. Captain Fatima Sana departed for a seven-ball duck, while middle-order batters Sadaf Shams (3) and Eyman Fatima (5) fell trying to break the squeeze.
Indian Spinners Run Riot
India’s bowlers gave Pakistan no room to breathe, with the spin department suffocating the scoring and striking at regular intervals. Left-arm spinner Shree Charani spearheaded the demolition job, finishing with exceptional figures of 3 for 7 from her four overs.
Off-spinner Prema Rawat proved equally lethal, matching the haul by claiming 3 for 9 in her four-over spell. Senior all-rounder Deepti Sharma cleaned up the tail efficiently to finish with 2 for 5 in 3.1 overs, while part-timer Shafali Verma chipped in with 1 for 10. In total, five Pakistani batters failed to trouble the scorers.
Qualification Under Threat
The capitulation severely dents Pakistan’s net run rate and places their semi-final hopes in serious jeopardy following their earlier group games. For India, who had already sealed qualification to the knockout stages, the dominant bowling display reinforces their position as the firm tournament favourites.
