India vs Pakistan: The teams of India and Pakistan are once again face to face. These two teams are going to clash in the T20 World Cup 2026 at the Premadasa Stadium in Colombo. The match is going to be very exciting because both the teams have more than one player. On one hand, the Indian team is expert in playing stormy games, while on the other hand Pakistani spinners are also in form. He is a big threat to Abhishek Sharma, Suryakumar Yadav, Ishan Kishan. Let us tell you why the Indian team wears blue jersey and the Pakistani team wears green jersey.
Why is India’s jersey blue?
Colored jerseys were introduced in ODI cricket in the 90s and each team had to choose different colours. There are three colors in the tricolor of India, saffron, white and green, but Team India could not choose the color easily because saffron was considered politically sensitive, as it could be associated with some politics and religious groups. White color could not be chosen for ODI cricket, whereas green color was chosen by teams like Pakistan, South Africa. After this, Team India chose blue color which is the color of Ashok Chakra in the middle of the tricolor. The blue color was not associated with any particular religion or politics, so India chose the blue jersey.
Why is Pakistan’s jersey green?
The national flag of Pakistan is green and green color is strongly associated with Islam, hence Pakistan cricket team adopted green jersey from the beginning. This color is a direct part of their national identity and from the beginning till today, Pakistani teams have worn green jersey only.
