T20 World Cup 2026: The match between India and Pakistan is to be played at Premadasa Stadium in Colombo. This ground of Colombo is famous all over the world for the terror of snakes. Even before the India-Pakistan match, there was a stir due to the snake coming out here. The snake had come out in the dugout of Pakistan. However, before the snake could become a problem for anyone, it was caught and the danger looming over the players and the team’s support staff was averted.

Snake came out before India-Pak match

The incident of snake coming out in Premadasa Stadium before the India-Pakistan match took place on 14th February. Pakistan team was about to reach the stadium for practice when just before that a snake came out there. The snake was very long and looked poisonous. The security personnel and ground staff became alert after seeing the snake. Before the snake could run away and go somewhere else, the ground staff and security personnel together caught it.

Due to the capture of the snake, the danger looming on the India-Pakistan team was also averted. If this snake had run away and hidden somewhere, then there would have been an atmosphere of fear and danger for the teams on the field.

There was terror of snakes at Premadasa Stadium

This is not the first incident of a snake creating fear in the atmosphere at Colombo’s Premadasa Stadium before or during a match. The fear of snakes that has spread before the India-Pakistan match has been seen before at the Premadasa ground in Colombo.

When snakes came out in LIVE match, match had to be stopped due to fear

Last year, on July 3, there was a stir when a big snake came out during the ODI match played between Sri Lanka and Bangladesh at the Premadasa ground in Colombo. Due to that snake, the fear spread so much that the match had to be stopped for some time. During the live match, the snake had entered the ground during the third over of Bangladesh’s innings.

Snakes also came out during Sri Lanka Premier League

Earlier in the year 2024, during the Sri Lanka Premier League, snakes had entered the Premadasa Stadium in some matches. Whenever snakes entered the ground, the match had to be stopped.
