IND vs OMN Asia Cup 2025: India is all set to face Oman during their last group stage match on Friday. The Indian team has already qualified for the Super 4 and will try to end their campaign in the group stage unbeaten.
The Suryakumar Yadav-led side will be playing their 250th T20I match. After playing in 249 matches in this format, they are in second position in the list of teams which had played the most T20Is. Pakistan is the table topper after playing in 275 matches, and that’s why Indian will be the second team to have played 250 or more T20I matches.

After playing in two low-scoring matches during their first two matches, the team management would like to bat first and take advantage of the 20 overs before entering the Super 4.
Openers Abhishek Sharma and Shubman Gill will try to take the most advantage. On one hand, Abhishek Sharma has given the team the much-needed, Gill will try to dig deep in the game. Captain Suryakumar Yadav, who was in sublime form against arch-rivals Pakistan, will hope that batters like Tilak Verma will spend time in the middle. The middle order consists of Hardik Pandya, Sanju Samson, Shivam Dube, and Axar Patel, as they will look forward to batting practice as the Men in Blue play 4 matches in the next week if they qualify for the summit clash.
Jasprit Bumrah’s workload will be the team management’s top priority. Gautam Gambhir might want to give some rest so that he stays fresh to bowl in 4 overs during Super 4. If he is given the rest, then Arshdeep Singh might replace him in the playing XI. Harshit Rana is another pacer who can replace one of the two spinners between Kuldeep Yadav and Varun Chakravarthy.
As far as Oman is concerned, it will face a daunting task against India. They had scored 67 and 130 runs against Pakistan and the UAE. None of their batters could score more than 30 runs. They will have a hard time batting against Indian spinners.
This is the first time that the Men in Blue will be playing a match here. Kuldeep Yadav revealed that they cannot take any team lightly in this format. For them, this game is about improving their skills and preparing for the Super 4s.
