New Zealand have announced their squad for the five-match T20I series against India, with Rachin Ravindra missing out due to a shoulder injury.
Ravindra suffered the injury during a promotional shoot last week and is expected to need at least six weeks to recover. He could return for the ODI series against India, which starts on November 4. The T20I series will begin on October 22. Bevon Jacobs has been added to the squad as a middle-order option in Ravindra’s absence. Adam Milne has also returned to the T20I squad after more than a year.

Rachin Ravindra injured his shoulder during a promotional shoot last week. He will now miss the five T20Is against India as he works on his recovery. New Zealand head coach Rob Walter said the team was disappointed with the injury but did not want Ravindra to rush his recovery.
‘We feel really sorry for Rachin. He will have an important role for us this summer, so it is important that he does not rush his recovery,’ Walter said. The New Zealand coach also said the team hopes Ravindra will be fit for the ODI series.

Bevon Jacobs has been added to the squad as an option for the middle order in Ravindra’s absence. Jacobs has played 11 T20I matches for New Zealand. He comes into the series after scoring an unbeaten 62 in his last T20I against Bangladesh.
