Mark Chapman and Zak Foulkes have been ruled out of the upcoming five-match T20I series between New Zealand and India due to two injury setbacks.
The two will miss the series due to hamstring and hip flexor injuries, respectively, New Zealand Cricket (NZC) stated on Friday. While participating in the first European T20 Premier League (ETPL), Chapman tore his left hamstring. The hitter is anticipated to be available for the upcoming five-match ODI series, even if the ailment has prevented him from playing in the T20I matches against India.
Foulkes, on the other hand, hurt his right hip flexor while working out with Canterbury. New Zealand Cricket has not yet decided when the pacer would be able to return to play, thus his recuperation timeframe is yet unknown.
New Zealand Name Replacements
All-rounder Josh Clarkson and fast bowler Blair Tickner have been selected by the Black Caps to replace the two injured players. Before the difficult task against India, Rob Walter, the head coach of New Zealand, expressed his joy at having the two players back in the squad.
