Records were broken in the final
- Batting first in the final played in Ahmedabad Indian team Scored 255 runs losing 5 wickets in 20 overs. This is the biggest score ever made in the final.
- India became the first team to score more than 250 runs thrice in the same World Cup and two of which came in the knockout rounds. Earlier, India had scored 253 runs against England in the semi-finals. In the Super-8, he scored 256 runs against Zimbabwe.
- Sanju Samson played an inning of 89 runs in this match, which is the record for the highest score in the World Cup final. He left behind Marlon Samuels (West Indies) and Kane Williamson (New Zealand). Both scores were 85 runs.
- Samson had his third consecutive half-century in this World Cup and became the first Indian batsman to do so. He scored 97 (not out) against West Indies in the Super-8 and 89 against England in the semi-finals.
- Apart from Samson, opener Abhishek Sharma scored 52 runs and Ishan Kishan, who came third, also scored 54 runs in this match. In this way, for the first time in T20 World Cup history, the top 3 batsmen of a team scored half-centuries.
- Sanju Samson ended the tournament with 321 runs in 5 innings and thus broke Virat Kohli’s (319 runs) record of most runs for India in a World Cup.
- Team India hit 18 sixes and a total of 37 boundaries in its innings. In both cases, this is a new record in the World Cup final.
- Abhishek Sharma scored a half-century in just 18 balls in this match, which is the fastest half-century by any batsman in the final.
