IND vs ENG 5th Test: KL Rahul Joins Virat Kohli In Elite List, Inches Closer Towards Achieving Rahul Dravid’s Record Next

IND vs ENG 5th Test: India’s star batter KL Rahul, on the fourth day of the ongoing fifth Test match, had joined former India batter Virat Kohli in the elite list of Indians taking most catches in England.

Rahul has also been in sublime form as a batter for the visitors in the ongoing series. He has also been a brilliant fielder while standing at slips.

He has been quite consistent in the ongoing series and has played huge roles in helping the Men in Blue get flying starts most of the time. The host needed to chase 374 runs during the fourth innings to win this match.

The Indian skipper Shubman Gill, the fans, and the team management breathed a sigh of relief when Prasidh Krishna dismissed Ben Duckett.

Rahul has taken 26 catches till now in England, and that is one more than Virat Kohli. Former India head coach Rahul Dravid had taken 30 catches, whereas Sunil Gavaskar has topped this list after taking 35 catches.

Prasidh had bowled a fuller delivery, which had touched the outside off stump, and Duckett mistimed the shot as he tried to play the drive. He got an outside edge as Rahul took an easy catch while standing at second slip.

At the same time, India’s star fast bowler Mohammed Siraj had bowled another brilliant eight-over spell and helped the side take two wickets, leaving the hosts reeling at 164/3 at lunch on Day 4 of the fifth Test match.

While chasing a mammoth target of 374 runs, the Ollie Pope-led side needed 210 runs to clinch the series against India, as the Men in Blue will try to skittle the hosts on a tricky surface and level the series.

After taking Zak Crawley’s wicket on the last ball of Day 3, Siraj spearheaded India’s pace attack along with Akash Deep.

And just like the first innings, Mohammed Siraj was at his absolute best and was also seen giving a hard time to Ben Duckett and Ollie Pope.

But it was Prasidh Krishna, who gave the side the much-needed wicket as he dismissed Duckett, and KL Rahul took his catch while standing at second slip.
