Bird flu in up: The threat of H5 avian influenza (bird flu) in Uttar Pradesh is looming. Vigilance has been increased in other places after bird flu spread over widespread level in Rampur. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Wednesday directed the concerned departments to take quick and coordinated action to deal with the possible conditions of danger. He said that the security of protected animals and birds is the top priority of the state government. Negligence at any level will not be acceptable.

Vigilance increased in zoos, bird sanctus etc.

The Chief Minister clarified that security measures should be strengthened in all the zoological parks, bird sanctus, national parks, wetland regions and cow-blessings of the state. He directed to implement all the necessary steps in accordance with the guidelines of the Central and State Government. The Chief Minister said that the zoological garden complexes should be regularized regularly and the process of blow toching should also be adopted if required. Health check -up of all wildlife and birds should be made compulsory and food should be provided only after a thorough examination of their diet.

Employees should be trained to deal with bird flu

The Chief Minister said that all employees should be given detailed information about the symptoms of avian influenza, method of infection and measures to prevent it. Also, all necessary security equipment including PPE kits should be provided to them so that they can remain safe and discharge their obligations.

Special attention on state poultry farms

Giving special attention to the poultry sector, the Chief Minister said that strict monitoring should be done as per the standards of all poultry farms of the state and continuous control of poultry products should be kept. He also directed the Health Department to submit a report after intensively studying the possible impacts on the H5 avian influenza’s human health so that no series of infection can reach the human society.

The Chief Minister directed to maintain sustainable dialogue with other national institutions including Central Zoo Authority, New Delhi, National Center for Disease Control Center, Ministry of Health, Fisheries and Dairy and other national institutions including Indian Veterinary Research Institute, Ijatnagar (Bareilly). He said that timely implementation of suggestions received from these institutions should be ensured.

The Chief Minister emphasized that timely, coordinated and strict action will pave the way for effective control over this possible infection. All concerned departments will have to work with mutual cooperation and quick information exchange, so that the security of both citizens and wildlife of the state can be ensured.
