The coming budget 2026 is expected to provide big relief to the middle class, farmers and the elderly. The government is considering many important announcements to increase consumption, strengthen rural income and improve infrastructure. Income tax, Kisan Samman Nidhi, Railways, solar energy and health sector can remain the main focus of the budget this time.
Income up to Rs 13 lakh can be tax free
In the new income tax regime, standard deduction for salary earners can be increased to Rs 1 lakh. If this happens, annual income up to Rs 13 lakh will be out of the tax net. At present income up to Rs 12.75 lakh is tax free. The government wants to make the new tax regime more attractive, so that people come out of the old system. Tax relief will bring more money into the hands of people, which is expected to increase consumption and boost the economy.
Eye on increase in Kisan Samman Nidhi
Under PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana, the annual assistance given to farmers can be increased from Rs 6 thousand to Rs 9 thousand. This demand has been raised by farmer organizations for a long time. About 11 crore farmer families are associated with this scheme. If the amount increases, the annual expenditure of the government may increase to approximately Rs 95 thousand crores. This will directly help the farmers in meeting their small needs related to farming.
Big bet on railways, more than 300 new trains
The government is aiming to eliminate the waiting list in train reservation by 2030. For this, more than 300 Vande Bharat and Amrit Bharat trains can be announced. In the last budget, Railways had received a record Rs 2.65 lakh crore. This time also the railway budget is expected to increase, which will speed up work like track expansion and increasing coaches.
Promotion of solar through PM Surya Ghar Yojana
There may be an announcement in the budget to increase the subsidy on solar systems up to 2 kW to Rs 40 thousand per KW. With this, a total subsidy of Rs 80 thousand will be available on 2 KW system. The government aims to connect 1 crore homes to the solar grid by 2027. With the increase in subsidy, it will be easier for common families to install solar systems.
Possibility of expanding the scope of Ayushman Bharat
Elderly people above 60 years of age can be included in Ayushman Bharat Scheme. Currently this facility is limited to those above 70 years of age. Also, the limit of free treatment of Rs 5 lakh per year can also be increased, so that expensive treatments like cancer and heart surgery can be covered.
Government’s focus on consumption and trust
Experts believe that these proposed steps will increase consumption, strengthen rural income and increase the confidence of common people. If Budget 2026 provides relief on these fronts, its direct impact can be seen on the pace of the economy.
