Inaki Godoy Returns As Monkey D. Luffy As Netflix Confirms Early Renewal For Season 3

One Piece Season 2 Teaser Out: Netflix has confirmed that its hit live-action pirate adventure One Piece is getting a third season, even before Season 2 has been released. Fans will, however, need to wait until 2026 for the new season to arrive. The announcement was made during the annual One Piece Day celebration in Tokyo, Japan, where Netflix also revealed a first look at Season 2. The web series is based on Eiichiro Oda’s hugely popular manga, the best-selling in Japanese history.

OTT platform Netflix took to X to share the teaser with the caption,“ Attention, Straw Hats! Here’s your first look at ONE PIECE: INTO THE GRAND LINE.  Season 2 coming 2026. Season 3 production setting sail soon.” One Piece Season 3 will begin filming later this year in Cape Town, South Africa. Ian Stokes, who has worked on One Piece as co-executive producer, will now join Joe Tracz as co-showrunner. Stokes replaces Matt Owens, who left the show in March after serving as executive producer and co-showrunner for the first two seasons. Joe Tracz took over as co-showrunner during Season 2 and has been leading the project through post-production.

What To Expect In One Piece Season 2?

The official Season 2 storyline teases tougher enemies and more dangerous adventures. Luffy and his Straw Hat crew will sail into the Grand Line, a legendary sea filled with both danger and wonder in search of the world’s greatest treasure. Their journey will take them to strange islands and bring them face to face with new foes. Returning cast members include Inaki Godoy as Monkey D. Luffy, Mackenyu as Roronoa Zoro, Emily Rudd as Nami, Jacob Romero Gibson as Usopp, and Taz Skylar as Sanji. The crew will clash with the secret Baroque Works agents.

Meanwhile, the teaser also introduces new characters: Miss Wednesday (Vivi) played by Charithra Chandran, Miss All Sunday (Nico Robin) played by Lera Abova, and Marine Vice-admiral Smoker played by Callum Kerr. Fans also spotted the giant Brogy (Brendan Murray) towering over Robin and Vivi, as well as Laboon, the Island Whale connected to Brook’s past. Interestingly, Tony Tony Chopper who was announced at Netflix’s Tudum event does not appear in the teaser. This has sparked speculation that the Drum Island arc will be saved for later episodes.
