Tejashwi Yadav has reached Mokama, the stronghold of Anant Singh, under the ‘Bihar Adhikar Yatra’. Their goal is to strengthen RJD’s penetration by keeping the Bhumihar vote bank. They are directly challenging the influence of Anant Singh with this visit.
Patna: Leader of Opposition Tejashwi Yadav is on a Mokama tour on Wednesday under the Bihar Adhikar Yatra. Mokama is the same assembly constituency that is considered to be the stronghold of Bahubali leader and former MLA Anant Singh, this time it is going to be a political summer ground for Tejashwi. Tejashwi will focus especially on the Bhumihar vote bank in this tour and will meet the youth directly and address them directly. Anant Singh and Union Minister Lalan Singh showed their strength in Mokama on the previous day. At the NDA worker conference, Lalan Singh raised his voice in favor of Anant Singh and said that there are only two defenders of Mokama. One Nitish Kumar and the other Anant Singh. At the same time, Tejashwi is preparing to throw all his political strength in this tour.
Anant Singh is not officially in JDU
There is a discussion in the political corridors that Anant Singh has not officially joined the JDU at the moment, but he has become the major face of JDU and can contest from Mokama on JDU ticket. On the other hand, his and his wife Neelam Devi’s rebellious stance from the RJD has increased the challenge for Tejashwi. During the floor test in January 2024, Neelam Devi left the Grand Alliance and supported the NDA, which weakened RJD’s influence in Mokama.
Trying to strengthen penetration in Mokama
Tejashwi Yadav’s effort is now that his party’s penetration should be strengthened in Anant Singh’s stronghold Mokama. For this, Tejashwi has deployed former minister and MLC Karthik Master. The role of Karthik Master is double. On the one hand, he will strengthen the roots of RJD among the Bhumihar community, on the other hand, information about the old colleagues and weak links of Anant Singh can be used in the electoral strategy.
Bhumihar’s stronghold Mokama
The electoral history of Mokama also makes the strategy of this tour important. This seat is considered to be the stronghold of Bhumihar caste and Anant Singh is also from this caste. This time Tejashwi’s decision is considered to be a big surprise in the candidate selection. The Grand Alliance claims the Mokama seat of the RLOJP leader Surajbhan Singh, but the RJD may make an impressive face a candidate at the last minute. It can also include Surajbhan’s family member or Bahubali Lalan Singh, who has been in BJP till now.
Tejashwi Yadav’s strategy is clear that challenging the image of Anant Singh while keeping the Bhumihar vote bank and re -establishing the influence of RJD in Mokama. In the upcoming election months, this tour is going to create a big stir in Bihar politics.
